Judge accused of O-V-I still hearing drunk driving cases
MIAMISBURG, Ohio -- A judge accused of O-V-I is back on the bench.
Miamisburg Municipal Court Judge Robert Messham heard four O-V-I cases yesterday even as his remains to go to court.
Cops say Messham was drunk and hit a parked truck. He reportedly refused to submit to a field sobriety test or a breathalyzer.
Ohio law says his driver's license will be suspended for a year for that refusal.
The judge's case will be heard April 13th.
What others are saying
- Judge not, lest ye be judged.I was walking on the moral highground today, only to find that this judge was walking on a path somewhat lower. How can someone like this remain a judge after such an absurdity? Surely his o.v.i. judgments would be laughed out of court in any other country. What a joke. Ahhh, America.
- Making bench decisions while in beer fogLook up whole Messham family, sons have mutiple dui's, burglary, money actions etc. Father claims to be supporter of Dare. We need leaders who can lead by example. Not thinking this man can make decisions while alchoholic. How many bad decisions have been made while hung over? Our leaders need to lead by example. This man needs to retire and put his HOUSE in order. His children obvisouly need him as their many entries in the court suggest that they could be parented better. Have you ever seen anyone with a big bulbous red drinking nose? Check his out. Watch out for favoritism, local politics takes care of their own. How many times did magistrate that messham appointed (Kohlberg) hear Messhams sons cases, A conflict of interest in the highest order. Messham should aplogize, take unpaid administrative leave at the least or if he had any pride he would just resign....
- CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IF HE ACTUALLY LOSES HIS. HE KEPT MY HUBBYS FOR A YEAR FOR 1ST OFFENSE, HE DID THE WEEKEND. MESSHAM IS NOT ABOVE THE LAW, I LOVE HOW HE'S THE JUDGE LISTED FOR HIS OVI. WONDER WHAT HE'LL GIVE HIMSELF?
