DAYTON, Ohio - Three area hockey teams have placed in the Top 10 in the latest version of the High School Hockey poll.

Centerville, Beavercreek, and Springboro each received enough votes to garner a top 10 ranking in the Cincinnati/Dayton/Columbus district. Centerville, the defending region champion, dropped two spots to number 7 after losing to Beavercreek and Troy last week in the annual Mayor's Cup tournament.

Thanks to the win over the Elks, Beavercreek (15-3) moved up one spot to number 6, while Springboro, the Mayor's Cup champion, held steady at number 9 for the second consecutive week.

Two of the other three area teams, Troy and Oxford-Talawanda, received votes this week. Two Dublin schools, Dublin Coffman and Dublin Jerome, continued to hold the top two spots in the regional poll.

The winner of the district tournament held at the end of February and beginning of March will earn an automatic spot into the state final four, to be held the second weekend of March at Nationwide Area in Columbus.
