Springfield good city for job growth, says national article
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- Despite tough economic times, Springfield has been named one of the best cities for jobs growth by a recent article on the MSN Careers Web site.
The article, "Today's Best and Worst Cities for Jobs," posted Dec. 21, noted Springfield had a 1.2 percent increase in job growth from July to October 2009.
State statistics show that Clark County's unemployment rate dropped from 11.7 percent in July to 10.2 percent in October.
Officials say 3,100 new jobs were announced since 2007, despite the recession.
