Woman and baby escape burning house
MECHANICSBURG, Ohio - A woman and her 2-week-old baby are safe after fire engulfed their house in Champaign County.
The fire started inside the home on Pisgah Road, near Mechanicsburg, just before 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. The entire house was engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived on the scene.
The blaze was extinguished, but a lot of smoke remained in the structure, according to fire officials.
The investigation as to what caused the blaze is still ongoing.
