Warren County boy sentenced in pipe bomb scare
LEBANON, Ohio -- A 17-year-old Springboro boy will serve community service and pay a fine in a pipe bomb incident.
That scare prompted the evacuation of Springboro city offices back in August.
Warren County Juvenile Judge Michael Powell sentenced the boy to serve 24 hours of community service, pay $250 in fines and costs, remain on house arrest and ordered the boy's driver's license suspended for two months.
The juvenile was credited for six days spent in detention and has another 30 days suspended.
The boy, a student at Fenwick High School admitted to charges of attempted possession of an alleged pipe bomb, obstructing official business, criminal mischief and placing injurious materials in the road.
Another 17-year-old is to be sentenced next week for his part in the incident.
