NEW CARLISLE, Ohio -- The Tecumseh YMCA in New Carlisle has had it's membership yanked by the national YMCA.

Tecumseh is facing foreclosure unless it can raise $175,000 by December 23.

YMCA of the USA told Tecumseh it was out of compliance for 2008 certification and "not financially sustainable."

The organization can operate as a family facility but they can not call themselves a YMCA.

The Save the Tecumseh YMCA fund has $86,000 pledged of the total needed to keep the facility's doors open. There have been several fundraisers aimed at keeping the facility open.

New Carlisle Federal Bank is buying and refinancing the mortgage from PNC/National City Bank. The Turner Foundation has agreed to pay the principal and the Y is responsible for the interest.
