SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- He's a Springfield High School sophomore but will be tried as an adult.

Tyson Dearmond, 16, will be tried for his alleged part in a home invasion shooting death.

He was indicted yesterday on multiple charges including murder and burglary.

Those charges stem from the death of 26-year-old Demarkis Jones in October.

Demetris Peterson, 21, and Erik Wilson, 27, are also facing charges.

What others are saying

  • send him away
send him away, this kid has a long record and he needs to be sent away for a long time to get it through his head that he aint as tough as he thinks he is and if he gets a light sentence then that just shows how little our court systems care. i mean come on the kid was doing something that we all know he knew was right or wrong, and on top of that its always the ones that get away with it that think they can do it again, it was up to me i would send him away for a time period that would send him a message that he aint gettin away that easy, and fro all those other teens out there that when u hit puberty, u know right from wrong whether its something as little as stealing or something as big as murder.
  • Tried as adult
I don't care if he is "tried" as an adult, I just hope that he is sentenced like one!
