Xenia trooper gets local award, now up for district/state honors
XENIA, Ohio -- Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Jennifer Soderquist has been selected for the 2009 Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper of the Year at the Xenia post.
The selection of Soderquist, 35, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2009 at the Xenia post. Fellow officers, stationed at the Xenia post, chose Soderquist based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude and cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public.
She is now in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year award to be announced later.
Soderquist joined the Highway Patrol in 1998 and has served at the Wilmington and Xenia posts.
A native of Xenia, she graduated from Xenia High School in 1992. After graduation, she entered the United States Marine Corps where she served until 1997. Trooper Soderquist has also received the Ohio State Highway Patrol Safe Driving Award and Outstanding Physical Fitness Award.
Trooper Soderquist lives in Xenia with her husband, Jason, daughter, Miranda, and sons Seth and Nick.
