West Chester employee sues township for sex discrimination
WEST CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Butler County - A longtime township employee says she was not allowed to retire and be re-hired because of her gender. Denise Bruce, Communications and Information Technology Director, has filed a federal lawsuit against the township. She says a number of men in the township, including her husband, were able to use the retire/rehire option. Her husband is former Police Chief John Bruce. She became eligible for full retirement benefits in 2007. West Chester denies the discrimination claims.
