TROTWOOD, Ohio - A man has been indicted on two felony counts of child endangering after his child was severely injured while in his car.

Brandon Beatty Sr. was arrested around 6:45 p.m. on Monday after the charges were filed last week. A grand jury indicted Beatty on a number of counts, including a second-degree felony charge of child endangering, causing serious physical harm, and a third-degree felony charge of child endangering, parent causing serious harm.

The incident in question occurred on August 31, when Beatty's son was taken to Dayton Children's Medical Center with bruising and other injuries on his body. Police say Beatty's statements were inconsistent with the injuries found on the child.

The 23-year-old Beatty will be arraigned on Thursday, November 5. The child is in the custody of his mother.
