Suspect ID'd in violent Kettering purse snatching
KETTERING, Ohio -- Cops identify a suspect in a violent purse snatching.
The incident happened outside of the Meijer store at 4075 Wilmington Pike on Nov. 18.
Police believe that Derrick G. Patrick, 42, approached a woman while she was getting into her vehicle, grabbed her purse and punched her when she wouldn't let go of the purse.
The victim's daughter reportedly tried to subdue the suspect by hitting him and jumping on his back. The perp managed to get away.
The suspect is described as 5'9, 275 pounds and also uses the alias of "Gregory Duke" or "Derrick Duke."
Anyone with information on Patrick's location is asked to contract Detective Paul Markowski at (937) 296-2597.
