Rockford man indicted for kidnapping and theft
CELINA, Ohio - Twenty-one year old Travis L. Potter of Rockford is indicted on kidnapping, auto theft, and multiple thefts by a Mercer County Grand Jury. Police say that on December 7, 2008, Potter stole a car from a gas station while a three year old boy was still strapped in. The boy's mother, Amanda Prichard of Celina, was inside paying for her purchase. Police found the car 48 minutes later abadoned in a Celina alley. The boy was still inside, and was unharmed. Police say Potter took the mother's purse, and then ran to a friend's house. Potter remains in the Mercer County Jail and will be scheduled for a common pleas court appearance.
