Dayton schools consider dropping gym class for athletes
DAYTON, Ohio -- Dayton Public Schools will hear comment tonight on a proposal that would allow student athletes to forego gym class. The hearing begins at 6 p.m. at the Board of Education Building on South Ludlow. Ohio law already allows it, and districts like Kettering and Centerville are already following it. Many believe that the student athletes are already getting plenty of physical activity without a physical education class.
