Greyhound buses begin using Trotwood hub despite opposition

TROTWOOD, Ohio -- The buses have started coming and going in Trotwood.

While many residents did not want Greyhound buses to share the RTA Northwest Hub with the locals, it started yesterday with no apparent problems.

Greyhound is leasing space at the RTA hub for 15 through buses daily at the intersection of Denlinger and Shiloh Springs. The property is zoned for transportation and has been for some ten years.

Opponents claim that Greyhound's use of the hub would bring an increase in crime, lower property values and damage the city's roads.

The Greyhound hub, which is locating from downtown Dayton, gives the bus company better access to the nearby interstates.
