Grand jury indicts Butler County Commissioner on fraud charges
CINCINNATI, Ohio - A federal grand jury has indicted a former state representative on charges involving mail fraud and filing false income tax returns.
The indictment announced Thursday alleges that Michael Fox, also a former Butler County Commissioner, conspired with attorney Robert Schuler to improperly benefit from county contracts. The indictment also alleges the men failed to report the income on federal income tax returns.
Fox and Schuler, a Dublin, Ohio resident, are each charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and filing a false income tax return. Fox also faces four mail fraud counts, and Schuler faces one perjury count.
There was no comment from either party regarding the charges.
