Gas prices down, Dayton area lower than state average
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio gasoline prices have fallen to the lowest levels in almost six months, to an average $2.30 for a gallon of regular, though many Miami Valley stations are much lower, as low as $2.08 a gallon..
The latest survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express shows prices are down 9 cents from last Monday, when regular-grade gas was averaging $2.39 in the state. The survey indicates prices are now down to levels last seen in late April.
The lowest prices we are finding in the Miami Valley are several stations in Piqua at $2.08 per gallon.
Gas is more than a dollar cheaper than last year at this time, when the Ohio average was $3.43.
Gasoline costs are dropping as questions about the health of the U.S. economy continue to weigh on prices for crude oil.
You can get updated local gas prices by going to the Gas Price tab on this website.
