WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio - Fire crews have doused a blaze at the Woodhill Apartment Complex that started early Tuesday morning.

Officials said two apartments were damaged in the fire and others suffered smoke and water damage, but they have not determined the cause of the blaze. Residents were forced to evacuate the building just after 7 a.m., but no one was injured.

West Carrollton Fire Chief Jack Keister said it could have been worse if the fire had started earlier in the morning when people were sound asleep.

Keister said he couldn't confirm a resident's claim that the fire started on a balcony. He said the cause and location of the ignition point were under investigation.
