Power restored in Oakwood after lightning strikes
OAKWOOD, Ohio - Power has been restored to parts of Oakwood after a lightning strike had caused some outages in the area.
Initially, the power outages were thought to have been caused by the high winds, but a spokesman for Dayton Power & Light verified the lightning as the cause. Oakwood high school, junior high, and elementary school were all on a 2-hour delay because of the outages.
DP&L says power has been restored to nearly all of the affected areas in Oakwood, Trotwood, Dayton, and Kettering.
