Miami Valley Plant Gets New Honda Crossover
EAST LIBERTY, Ohio -- Some good automotive news for the northern Miami Valley though it won't mean new jobs.
The Honda Motor Company says a plant in East Liberty will be the production site for the automaker's new crossover utility vehicle.
The plant will build the Honda Accord Crosstour. it currently produces the CR-V and the Element.
The Crosstour is a five-passenger wagon-like SUV based on a mid-size sedan. It goes into production this fall.
Employment at the plant is expected to remain steady at around 2400.
The engines will be supplied by Honda's engine plant near Anna and the transmissions from the automaker's plant near Russells Point.
