SIDNEY, Ohio - A car slammed into the corner of a house in Sidney, and police are now saying it was intentional - but the house wasn't the target.

Officers said Alan Branscumwas trying to run over his wife when he drove his car into his own house on the corner of Buckeye and Michigan Streets just before 8 a.m. on Friday morning. Sidney police have filed attempted murder charges on Branscum and are conducting a manhunt for him in the surrounding areas.

Police chief Kevin Gessler said the 43-year-old Branscum first assaulted his wife, 38-year-old Mary Branscum, inside the car. When she ran from the car, police said he tried to run her down but missed, hitting the couple's house at 730 Michigan Street.

Mary Branscum suffered minor injuries and is expected to recover.
