CLARK COUNTY, Ohio -- A man stole a basket of candy from a local business over the weekend -- then had a change of heart and brought it back.

The theft happened early Sunday morning, July 12, at the United Dairy Farmers store at 7910 Dayton Road near Enon.  The owner contacted the Clark County Sheriff's Office Monday to fill out a report about the incident.

The owner said 41-year-old Robert Lipker came into the store around 4 a.m. and paid for his items.  She said he then set them on a basket of candy and fled with the basket, according to the police report.

As the owner was speaking with a deputy Monday about the incident, the suspect called the store and said he had been playing around and would bring the candy back, according to the report.

The owner of the store declined to file any charges.
