EATON, Ohio -- A 2-year-old girl wandered into abackyard and drowned in a pool in Eaton yesterday evening, July 9.

Eaton police said Hayley Hager was found around 5:30 p.m. Thursday at 810 East Avenue.  The girl's mother, two other adults, and two teens were home at the time, according to police.

The girl had apparently been napping and woke up when nobody was in the room.  She was later discovered in the above-ground pool in the backyard -- family members had no idea how long she'd been there.

Hager was rushed to a hospital in Richmond, Ind., where she was pronounced dead.

Police are looking in the matter, but said it appears to be a horrible accident.

no way she drowned. how does a 21 month old wake up without anyone knowing specially when there was 5 other people in the house. I think someone hurt her then put her in that pool. I also think the police should investigate further as to what really took place
