Greene County Enjoying Water Surplus, Unlike Past Years
GREENE COUNTY, Ohio -- Water conservation is still the name of the game in Greene County, which is enjoying a water surplus this summer unlike in past years.
Acting Sanitary Engineer Ron Volkerding says the county's water system is much more in balance. The county is still urging residents to conserve water. County leaders would still like residents to observe wise watering practices, including using the odd-even lawn irrigation practices. Residents with odd-numbered street addresses water on odd-numbered days and residents with even-numbered addresses water on even-numbered days.
The practices apply only to Greene County water customers in the City of Beavercreek, Beavercreek Township, and northern Sugarcreek Township.
The county has initiated several projects to upgade its water system to meet the demand, which averages approximately 5.5 million gallons a day in Beavercreek and Sugarcreek Township.
