DAYTON, Ohio -- Dayton's assistant city manager has moved on, and city officials say they have yet to decide if the position will be filled.

Assistant City Manager Jane Howington has resigned, effective July 30, after accepting a position as city manager of Kalispell, Mont.  Howington has held the position since June 2007 -- she previously served as city manager of Oxford.

City Manager Rashad Young said he will be reevaluating the position before deciding if a replacement is needed.
