Troopers: Man Thrown On Roof In Crash Was Likely Speeding
XENIA, Ohio -- A man that was thrown onto the roof of a nearby home in an accident has been identified as Brent Brown, 26, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The bizarre accident took place around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, June 27. Brown was driving eastbound on Old U.S. Route 35 in Silvercreek Township when he tried to pass another vehicle on a curve, according to investigators.
Brown's Ford F-350 went off the left side of the road, striking several trees before coming to rest on its roof.
Troopers said Brown was ejected more than 50 feet onto the roof of a nearby home. A passenger in the car, 24-year-old Preston Boggs, was also injured.
Brown was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital while Boggs was taken by ambulance. Boggs was treated and released, while Brown was still in critical condition as of Monday morning, according to reports from the Dayton Daily News.
Troopers said neither man was wearing a seatbelt. The crash is still being investigated, but troopers said it appears Brown was driving much faster than the 55 mph speed limit.
