We need to remember that Markeson is Innocent until Proven Guilty. The news sources and Sherriff Kelley seem to be purposely obscuring the details to make the case seem worse than it is.

For one, the "boy" or "student" is a 16-year-old high school student. And, as the details of the case have begun to come out, it seems very unlikely that a person of this age would not have been able to ward off such an attack. The story does not add up.

I'm going to withhold my judgement until all the evidence is in. Unfortunately, many in the community have already tried, sentenced, and crucified Markeson, and even if he is found innocent, it is unlikely that he will be able to teach in this community ever again. Shame on you.

If Markson is found guilty, he should be sentenced within the extent of the law. But, he deserves as fair trial, as each of us do.

What is happening? I just dont understand. How do we protect our children? I have four kids and two of them attend the Greenon School District and two are yet to enter. I want to run, flee the area after 33 years but you just know this is happening everywhere. You tell your kids to trust and listen to their teachers. As a parent, what do we do? I can not comprehend an adult having such control issues that they must impose such mental and physical harm on a child that looks at you with trust in their eyes. God help us all.
