New Business to Miami Valley? Warren County Town on Short List
MONROE, Ohio - A business is looking for a new site in Ohio, and Monroe is one of the three finalists.
City Manager William Brock says the company is targeting land within the industrial property at the Corridor 75 Park, just off of I-75 on OH-63.
The project, which has been given the code name "Helios," would be the largest income generator in Monroe "by far," according to Brock. He says the new business, an unidentified manufacturing company, could bring between 400 to 600 new jobs to the town.
The company is also considering other states, aside from the three Ohio locations. Each location is putting together a package designed to entice the company into selecting the respective location. Brock said Monroe is discussing including a waiver which would affect the corporate income tax, a potential loan, waiving a portion of the city's building fees, restructuring its utility costs and waiving site plan and engineering review fees.
The town will know in four to six weeks if it makes the next round of cuts to remain in the running.
