Man Indicted With Trying To Drown Girlfriend In Culvert
LEBANON, Ohio -- A Warren County man has been indicted on charges including attempted murder after he allegedly tried to drown his girlfriend.
Clinton Strunk, 25, was arrested early June 14 at 3939 Springboro Road after witnesses said he tried to drown his girlfriend in a 6-inch culvert along the road.
Investigators said Strunk had been drinking before he got in a fight with the 25-year-old victim.
Police say Strunk violently beat her before trying to drown her -- the woman suffered serious injuries to her eye and a perforated eardrum, as well as numerous cuts and bruises. She is still recovering from her injuries.
Witnesses called police around 4:30 a.m. -- they told officers they heard screaming and discovered Strunk trying to drown the woman. At the time of the attack, he was free on $20,000 bond from an aggravated robbery arrest in late March.
Strunk has a long history of arrests ranging including domestic violence, violating a protection order, and disorderly conduct.
Strunk is currently being held on charges of attempted murder, felonious assault, and domestic violence. His bond is set at $500,000.
