It's Board Of Elections Turn On Husted Residency Question
DAYTON, Ohio -- Today's the day when a ruling will be made on whether State Senator Jon Husted is a legal resident of Kettering...maybe.
The local board of elections, which tied on the issue of Ohio Sen. Jon Husted's residency, will take another look at the matter after it was bounced back to the board by Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.
Husted faces an inquiry whether he lives at the 148 Sherbrooke Drive home where he is registered to vote. Husted says he stays with his wife and children at her Upper Arlington home, but claims Kettering is his home.
Ohio law requires legislators to live in their districts.
If the local board can't decide it again, the issue will be sent back to the secretary of state.
Husted, in just his first year in the state senate, plans to run for secretary of state this fall.
