Clark County Bank Robbery Locks Down School
MEDWAY, Ohio -- A bank robbery had Medway Elementary School locked down this afternoon, and police are still looking for their suspect.
The robbery happened around 1 p.m. at the Security National Bank, 130 West Main in Medway.
Witnesses said the man put a piece of cloth up to his face as he entered the bank. He approached the teller, who was handling money at the time, and demanded she give it to him.
The robber said he had a weapon, but never displayed one, according to Clark County Deputies. The man then fled from the back of the bank, crossing a yard, and got into a waiting vehicle with an accomplice.
There were several customers in the bank at the time. Nobody was injured in the incident.
Medway Elementary School, located within a quarter-mile of the bank, was locked down for about a half an hour while deputies searched the area. They did find a wad of cash that was apparently dropped by the robber as he fled.
The suspect is described as a white male with blond hair, around 5'10" and 165 pounds. The vehicle he fled in was believed to be a green or teal Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
Anyone with information should call the Clark County Sheriff's Office at 328-2560.
