KETTERING, Ohio -- A high school hockey player broke his neck during a game at the Kettering Recreation Center Sunday morning.

The 14-year-old boy from the Toledo area was conscious and breathing after the incident, but was suffering paralysis from the neck down, according to Kettering Fire Shift Commander Mitch Robbins.

The student remained at Miami Valley Hospital Monday morning in unknown condition.

The boy was a student at Clay High School in Oregon Ohio.  Clay was playing Lexington in Beavercreek High School's Frozen Creek hockey tournament.
