SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- A Springfield woman called police Tuesday to report her 3-year-old daughter missing and ended up being arrested on two counts of child endangerment.

According to police, Elizabeth J. Brown called police to report her daughter missing.  An officer arrived at her home and got no response when he called for the woman.

The officer entered the home, and discovered deplorable living conditions.

Police found out Brown was walking home with her two children.

Police said the floors were covered in food, trash, and clothes, and the refrigerator contained only pizza and eggs.  The bathrooms were dirty and the children's bedrooms had no curtains or sheets.

Brown told the officer that her 3-year-old followed her 9-year-old child to school.

The 3-year-old was taken into the custody of Clark County Children Services.  Brown was charged and released.
