Boy's Makeup Causing Big Deal In Hamilton

HAMILTON, Ohio -- A 13-year old is told to wash his face. Now his is talking legal action.

This all happening at Garfield Middle School in Hamilton.

The eighth grade boy, Matt Allsup, wears black lipstick and eyeliner to school.

School officials say no way, it's too distracting.

The kid is claiming discrimination, saying the makeup expresses the rock and roller he is.

His mom is backing him, saying if the lipstick color is an issue, she'll get him a nice shade of pink.

Makeup not important
I fully support this kid and his mom 100%. If his attendance and grades are good then that's all that really matters.

Only girls have the right to wear lipstick! This strange boy is some kind of Devil lovin' sicko!!I wish the school would use the paddle on his rump!

Not his fault
He's not hurting anybody. It's not his fault if his classmates are intolerant bigots. If anything, the school in question should have sensitivity training for those who are so obsessed with hating people who are different.

Go Kid!
Forcing a boy to remove his makeup while ignoring all the girls who wear it is an unfair double standard. The school's only mandated job is to educate the children, not play morality police to appease fundies who can't get over their outdated ideals of traditional gender roles.

How selfish and ignorant can this son and mom be? Any lawyer willing to sue on their behalf is a disgrace. Consider that the school has a job to do. Let his mom wear a beard and mustache to work and see how long she'll keep her job!

This seems perfeclty fine. The school has the right to make a decision like this. The kid is there to get an education, not to be on America's Next Top Model.

Hardly a surprise. People will support stupidity and sue their way into forcing unacceptable behavior to be accepted until there are no standards left whatsoever. Sick.
