DAYTON, Ohio -- Miami Valley Hospital police arrested a woman after she allegedly tried to pull out her 17-year-old daughter's intravenous line and assaulted an officer.
Ericka Montgomery, 35, was told by officers not to come back to the hospital after trying to remove the IV in the emergency room, according to a Dayton police report.
Montgomery was spotted a short time later at the hospital and when approached by police she started cursing and yelling, the report said,
She was arrested for trespassing. While in custody in the security office of the hospital, Montgomery allegedly kicked a Miami Valley officer, the report said.
Police are not sure why Montgomery tried to pull her daughter's IV.
A background check found Montgomery had an outstanding warrant through the Montgomery County Sheriff's office for drug trafficking.
She was placed in the county jail for felonious assault of a police officer and misdemeanor charges of trespassing, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
