DAYTON, Ohio-- Officials say a black male suspect approached a woman in Harrison Township in front of 4404 Webster Street to ask for directions, but to her surprise that's not all he wanted.
Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer says the suspect grabbed her and attempted to bring her into his vehicle. She was able to free herself and run into a business to call police.
Plummer says the man was armed with a knife. The victim suffered minor cuts on her hand. After the incident they say man fled north bound on Webster Street in his van. His identity is unknown.
The woman had her purse on her, but the suspect did not take it Sheriff Plummer added.
Plummer says the suspect is on the run, and asks you to look out for an older white Chevy panel van with no windows, rusty rims and a loud muffler.
