Local Man Charged With Sexually Abusing Child
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio-- A Champaign County man is facing sexual abuse charges after Clark County Sheriff's Office investigators found explicit images of children on his home computer.
Andrew G. Wild, 27, of 9870 E. U.S. Route 56 in Woodstock is charged with rape, gross sexual imposition and illegal use of a minor in sexually oriented material.
Wild, a computer design engineer, sexually abused a 5-year-old child he was baby-sitting, said Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly. During the investigation, officials discovered graphic images of that child and several other youngsters on Wild's computer, Kelly said.
Investigators believe there are other victims and are asking anyone who might have had children in Wild's care to contact the Sheriff's Office. "(The victims) are as young as 1 and as old as 5," Kelly said.
Officials don't know if the images on Wild's computer were for his use or meant for distribution. The investigation began when the Clark County Department of Job and Family Services received a complaint that the child had been abused, Kelly said.
Wild was placed in the Clark County Jail.
