MEDWAY, Ohio -- Two Medway parents were charged Wednesday, March 19, after authorities said a young child in their home had taken medication.
Joeleen and Aaron Stump, both 28, of 104 South Park Drive, Medway, were ordered into Clark County Municipal Court for an appearance today at 10:30 a.m., according to the Clark County Sheriff's Office.
Both parents face a charge of child endangering, a first-degree misdemeanor. Deputies, as well as emergency medical personnel and Bethel Twp. firefighters, responded to a call at the home shortly after 9 a.m.
Aaron and Joeleen Stump told deputies the 2-year-old boy had taken medication, possibly sleeping pills, and was discovered at 8:30 a.m., according to a release from the sheriff's office. The parents called the family physician first, then dialed 911 shortly after 9 a.m.
Authorities took the child to Children's Medical Center in Dayton, where he was listed in stable condition Wednesday. Deputies also found three other children in the home, whose ages ranged from 1-year-old to 5 years old.
Clark County Children's Services was called, and they gave emergency custody of the children to a grandmother, according to the sheriff's office, which is investigating the case.
