Funeral Director Misconduct

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- A former Springfield funeral home director reaches a tentative settlement with state officials.
James Qualls III is charged with immoral or unprofessional conduct and misappropriation of money paid by a consumer. The tentative settlement calls for Qualls to voluntarily surrender his embalmer and funeral director licenses for two years, after which he could apply for reinstatement. the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors must approve the settlement. Qualls was ordered last year to repay over $67,000 in missing funds.
