No "Game Changer" For Hillary Clinton

Time is running out for Hillary Clinton.

While Clinton emerged with a narrow victory last night in Indiana, she lost the overall delegate race to Barack Obama, thanks to his larger advantage in North Carolina.

Even as the networks waited to figure out whether Clinton would win the Hoosier State, a confident Obama addressed supporters in Raleigh and congratulated Clinton on her apparent victory.

"Tonight we stand less than 200 delegates away from winning the Democratic nomination for president of the United States," Obama told his supporters.

In other words, he wasn't worried. He's closing in on the Democratic nomination.

No matter what Hillary Clinton and her backers might say.

Clinton gave no hint that she was going to quit the race, telling supporters here in Indianapolis that she will go on to West Virginia, Kentucky and other states the remain.

The last three weeks have not been good ones for Barack Obama. He had a terrible performance in a debate in Pennslyvania, then he lost the primary there and finally had to endure the Reverend Jeremiah Wright show.

And still, he won big in North Carolina and came close in Indiana. Now he's got some momentum again.

The Clinton Spinmeisters are trying their best to talk about how Obama "should have" won by big margins in both states.

Blah, blah, blah (sound of Charlie Brown's teacher.)

Yes, Hillary Clinton can still win the Democratic nomination. It still is possible. She can demand that the delegates from Michigan and Florida be counted (in her favor.)

But we may have just moved to a different point in this campaign, and Obama seemed to sound that note last night in his speech in North Carolina.

Hillary's speech sounded different too. She didn't seem to be as much of a "fighter" as she was just a day ago on the stump.
